Legacy Charter School (SC) 87
Memphis (TN) Ridgeway 55

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Legacy Charter Lions placed five players in double-figures and cruised to an 87-55 win over the Ridgeway Roadrunners in Sunday afternoon action at the Music City Classic.

The first half didn’t foreshadow the ending with the score knotted at 34 at the intermission.

Legacy Charter put together an 18-2 run to close out the third quarter behind clutch shooting from Tyrell Mendenhall and Nicolas Claxton. CJ Jamison capped the spurt with a trey with eight seconds remaining in the third period, putting the Lions ahead to stay.

The fourth quarter saw more of the same as Legacy Charter combined excellent shooting and smothering defense, building a lead as high as 36 points before settling in for the 32-point final margin.

Legacy Charter shot 63.8 percent from the floor in the contest including a near-perfect 91.7 percent (11-of-12) from the field in the fourth quarter. The Lions defense also limited the Roadrunners to 6-of-24 shooting in the second half and a 36 percent clip for the game.

Claxton led the Lions with 23 points and shared the top rebounding total with teammate CJ Jamison. Ridgeway was led by Tylar Haynes’ 19 point effort.
