NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Louisville Male Bulldogs topped the Providence Day School Chargers 64-45 in the first girls hoops contest of the 2017 Music City Classic.

Louisville Male jumped out to a 16-7 lead at the end of the first quarter aided by an impressive 8 points off turnovers. 

The second quarter saw the Bulldogs go on a 16-1 run and sent the team into the half with a 20-point advantage.

The Chargers put together a rally in the third period, outscoring Louisville Male 16-7 to cut the lead to 32-43, but it proved to be too little too late.  Louisville Male put the game away in the final quarter, outscoring Providence Day 21-13 to win the game by 19 points.

Providence Day’s Janelle Bailey led both squads with 26 points and 20 rebounds. Louisville Male was paced by Emilia Sexton’s 19 points. Cameron Browning led the Bulldogs with eight rebounds.
