NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Local boys basketball team Montgomery Bell Academy opened the annual Music City Classic with a thrilling 64-63 come-from-behind win over Scott County (Ky.) High School. 

Scott County took a 26-18 lead into the locker room at the half and continued to build on it during the third quarter. Both teams shot well in the third, but Scott County managed to outscore MBA 20-17 in the period and giving the team an 11-point advantage with one frame remaining.

MBA exploded in the fourth quarter, outscoring Scott County 29-17 to overcome the deficit and s The Big Red went on a 16-4 run to close out the game including two treys from Will Nutter and a three-pointer and a steal from Drew Weikert.

Overall, MBA was 22-for-23 from behind the arc and an even 25-50 from the floor. Thomas Carr led the Big Red with 20 points.

Scott County’s Michael Moreno led the way for his team with 23 points. Bryce Long pulled down seven rebounds to lead all players in the category.
